Karamulon Point
Early morning light dapples the gentle waves as our divers backwards roll into the water at Karamulon Point. We descend down a sheer wall to 20 meters before turning out onto a deep peninsula with three shelves, the deepest close to 42 meters.
At depth, you can hang in the blue and watch the morning action as predators come out to feed. Black tip reef sharks, hunting trevally and schools of barracuda circle the point with the ocassional eagle ray coming in for a pass.
As we shallow up we come across nesting titan triggerfish blowing rubble out of their dens and looking for tiny crabs and shrimp to feed upon - a tasty breakfast, indeed.
Finally we leave the point and head back along the wall towards the Coral Garden (a great spot for a shallow afternoon dive) where we find a variety of nudibranchs including huge banana nudibranchs with their bright yellow and black markings.
