Bonegi 1 (B1)

B1 is located only a short drive outside Honiara making it an easy-to-access shore dive. It is the home to the Hirokawa Maru, sunk in 1942 as part of the Guadalcanal Campaign during WWII.

Over the years it has become an absolutely spectacular artificial reef. Colorful soft coral shares the scene with anemones, fans, and soft corals. Trevallys can often be found hunting schools of baitfish overhead.
