Wickham Island

You can jump in almost anywhere around this island and find an amazing dive site. The shoreline dips and slopes gently down creating a home for blue spotted rays and small coral heads that anemones have attached to. We often find chocolate chip seastars dotting the sandy bottom. We’ve also spotted flathead crocodilefish including the more elusive black variety.

A lttile bit deeper and the slope becomes a wall covered in soft corals and huge sea fans.

This is a particularly good site to spend the afternoon looking for small stuff including pygmy seahorses and a variety of sea slugs and nudibranchs. It is also a great site for cuttlefish and in the evening, for reef octopus.
