DOSI Members
-
Dive Operators Solomon Islands is a legally constituted Association within the Solomon Islands. All members meet set entry criteria and are obligated to follow the objectives of the Association. DOSI dive operators are all affiliated with internationally recognised training organisations and meet those organisations’ standards in respect to staff, equipment and day to day dive operations.
In addition, DOSI creates the framework in which members work together to provide the best and safest diving experience for scuba divers and free divers in the Solomon Islands.
Our Members are passionate about the Solomon Islands as a unique diving destination, their own diving locality(s), the multiple benefits the diving tourism brings for their staff and local communities.
-
As embodied in the formal objectives of DOSI our mission is to actively and responsibly promote all aspects of the diving industry including
conserving the reef environment
protecting historical wrecks
adding value to the national and village economies
improving diving amenities and services
-
As a self governing organization, DOSI members have elected to create a set of diving and operating standards that are in line with diving standards recognized by the largest international training agencies.
DOSI members individually and collectively address issues such as insurance coverage; being sensitive, respectful, and supportive of local culture; support for the hyperbaric chamber in Honiara; hydrostatic testing of dive cylinders; compressor servicing, and dive staff training.
When you elect to dive with a DOSI member, you can trust that you are diving with a reputable organization that takes your holiday enjoyment and safety seriously.

DOSI members are dedicated to supporting and uplifting the local communities in the Solomon Islands through various initiatives:
Medical Trips: DOSI members organize medical missions to local villages, addressing community needs in areas with limited access to healthcare practitioners and supplies.
Employment: We prioritize hiring local staff from the communities we work in, providing training and development opportunities to help them grow professionally.
Village Visits: DOSI members arrange authentic village visits for our guests, who can bring gifts and donations. Additionally, we purchase produce and other goods from local communities, contributing to their economy.
Kastom Fees: We collect appropriate land ownership and diving fees from our guests on behalf of the villages. This practice supports the local economy and acknowledges the villagers' land rights.
By engaging in these activities, DOSI members showcase their commitment to fostering strong relationships with the communities in Solomon Islands and contributing to their overall well-being.
